Students, if you are at least 14 years old we are interested in you too. We understand that you have sports, music and academic demands, but if you still have time we may have an opening for you. When possible, we expect our student employees to work two school nights and two weekend shifts each week. Shifts vary from 2.5 to 4 hours. Schedules are written weekly to work around school and family activities, and the actual number of hours worked each week will vary some depending on employee availability. Employees under 18 years of age are covered by both federal and state child labor regulations. While the restrictions on 16-18 year old employees have minimal effect on our employees, the restrictions on 14-15 year old employees are significant. Employees under 16 years of age have restrictions regarding the number of hours they can work in a day, number of hours they can work in a week, the time of day they are allowed to work, and the types of jobs they can perform and tools they can use. Additionally, employees under 16 years of age are required obtain a work permit prior to beginning employment. However, don’t let these things deter you if you are interested in working here. |
